Prime Minister Imran Kahn came into office in 2018 and while many had reservations regarding his victory but a majority of the general public had great hopes from his government. Prime Minister Imran Khan succeeded in winning the hearts of the Pakistani people due to two main reasons. Firstly the existing political leadership had proved time and again to be corrupt and have been the major cause of Pakistan’s current crisis, knowing this the people of Pakistan were tired of giving PPPP and PML-N chances to redeem themselves. Secondly, people had voted for PM Imran Khan because he had no record of corruption and because he promised to address the pressing concerns of Pakistan embossed in the hearts of the entire nation. He presented himself as a ray of hope for Pakistan and the nation decided to trust him. Mr. Imran Khan should remember his promises and should not forget the trust that the nation placed in him. Mr. Imran Khan had vowed to end corruption, control the bills of his office bearers and he had promised the nation that all appointments in his government will be based on merit. Prime Minister has failed to deliver on these promises. His cabinet members are proving to be the most corrupt and the most incompetent. It is highly unlikely that Mr. Imran Khan is unaware of the corruption of his government; it just seems that he has turned a blind eye to the actions of his cabinet members. On the off chance that the Prime Minister of Pakistan is unaware of the corruption of his cabinet, then the role of a Prime Minister is not for Mr. Imran Khan.  Imran Khan as Prime minister has employed a huge cabinet whose extensive bills are being borne by the taxpayers of Pakistan. Pakistan’s ministers and bureaucrats drive luxurious vehicles which are known to consume huge amounts of fuel which is given to them free of cost. Prime Minister Imran Khan himself commutes to work through a helicopter. This way of life is not suited to government officials of a poor country like Pakistan. We need loans to survive on an annual basis. The fuel that is being consumed so lavishly is given to us based on deferred payment and is a facility given to the people of Pakistan, not to the corrupt individuals of the government. The people of this country are committing suicide as they don’t have the means to afford meals, we lack necessities to survive while P.M. and his cabinet are thriving on borrowed resources. The people of Pakistan, trusted Imran Khan, are in a miserable state. The rise in USD prices and the hike in fuel prices has increased inflammation to an alarming level. Unemployment has risen considerably during Imran Khan’s tenure. People are losing hope and the rise in suicides is evidence of that. In conclusion, Imran Khan as Prime Minister has failed on all his major promises, and his team has set the stage for the likes of IMF to take control of Pakistan’s economy and turn the people of Pakistan into slaves to the will of western powers.
