The book under discussion is related to literary criticism having 27 write-ups in its skirt. There are also four interviews taken from some poets and writers by the author.

His family name was Shair Ali but he adopted nom de plume Shair Ali Shair adding the word ‘Shair’. His forefather had migrated to Multan from Delhi after independence of Pakistan and settled down in Madinatul Aulia where Shair Ali Shair was born on June 20, 1966. He is a highly educated person having Master’s Degree in Urdu literature.

Shair Ali Shair has variegated literary background having more than 100 books to his credit. Therefore he has made century in the field of literature. Of them all some books are compiled by him. He is a poet writes Hamd, Na’ats, ghazals, tervinis (تروینی) , haikus, qata’at and all kinds of poetic genres. Though “Tanqeedi Ainay” contains 27 write-ups and four interviews but among articles only two or three are on prose writers such as Dr Moinuddin Aqeel and Syed Muhammed Qasim. It is correctly said that writers’ writings themselves reflect their inner and outer feelings and trend of thinking. The book vividly opines that the trend and as well as author’s inner and outer feelings are to large extent bent upon poets and poetry.  The rest essays are written on poets and poets-cum-prose writers. The articles

“Aik Qad Awer  Adabi Shakhsiat: Hemayet Ali Shair”, “Sawad-e-Sukhan Ka Shair: Prof Saer Ansari”,”Gazal : Zindagi Ka Doosra Naam Hai (Dr Peer Zada Kay Hawalay Say)”,”Shair-e-Hamd-o-Na’at: RajaRasheed Mahmood”, “Roomn Perwer Nazm Negar: Amjad Islam Amjad”,”Pahalwan-e-Sukhan: Dr Inamul Haq Javaid”,”Sohail Ghazipuri: Apni Tasaneef Kay Aainay May”,”Shairi Ki Jaan: Jaan Kashmiri”,”Naee Nasl Ka Nomainda Shair: Akram Kunjahi” are good pieces. These write-ups have been written with devotion having qualities of research like analysis.

The essays from first to fourth are precious and informative. The author has written these essays in pure literary style and taste. Write-up on Dr. Moinuddin Aqeel is written marvelously as well as respectfully. No doubt Dr. Moin is a reverend personage of educational and literary world. He is honest and balance-minded researcher and critic as well as scholar.

The four interviews  have been taken from prominent poet of Hamd, Na’at and poetry Ejz Rahmani, known figure of song writer, journalist and script writer Shair Siddiqi, Dr. Khawaja Moizuddin(Moiz Abid) and the famous Na’at Khwan Riaz Nadeem Niazi. The during conversation the dialogues are full of interest as well as attractive.

Not all in all but most of essays are valuable which have been written with painstaking efforts. It is known by everybody that all creations of a writer cannot be termed UREKA like effort. There are two passages of comments about the author.
