Pakistan’s long fought battle against terrorists, is not over yet, despite the many sacrifices and the achievements that the country and its nation has made. However, Pakistan has made great progress in terms of curbing terrorism and uprooting the networks. What’s frustrating is that these terrorists keep coming back. The main reason behind this is that they keep getting the funds and equipment to carry out attacks on Pakistan. The nation’s resilience in the face of brutal and cowardly terrorist attacks which plagued the country for over a decade is commendable. Families were shattered, lives lost and destroyed, rise in physical and mental disabilities but even then, the people of Pakistan did not give up, because they do not want to give up. They fought alongside their brave armed forces and shattered the enemy, emerging successful. Our people must remember that if we can, by ALLAH’s will, defeat the terror wave which engulfed our country then these small trials cannot break our will. We need to remain strong minded, understand who our enemy is what their plan is only then can we succeed entirely.

The only way to do this is to remain vigilant and to be prepared for any situation that may arise and threaten our existence. We should plan preemptively and should set up defenses accordingly. Pakistan is going through some very sensitive times, we have emerged from the dark period where terrorists were strong and each cowardly attack of theirs was more vicious than the last one. With the defeat of these foreign funded cowards, Pakistan is taking firm steps towards stability and progress, Pakistan is re building itself and growing stronger. This is something that doesn’t go well with our enemies, may they be our neighbors or the self proclaimed champions of war on terror and the idea of a strong Pakistan does not suit them.

It is because in defeating terrorism in our country we are working against their agenda. We need to understand that the war is not over, there is still much to do yet. There are sleepers cells of the enemy in the country there are still people who are working for the enemy disguised as well wishers of Pakistan, we need to be decisive at this time and we need to take bold steps against such measures. Our enemies know that Pakistan is on its way to turn into an economic power with measures such as the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

As a result they have now openly come out against CPEC and Pakistan. They are doing everything in their power to pressurize and bully Pakistan, even if it involves blatant lies and hypocrisy. America, despite knowing that Pakistan’s success against terrorism is far greater than that of its own and its allies, still keeps demanding Pakistan to do more, based on false allegations. All of this is done while conveniently ignoring Indian involvement in terrorist activities against Pakistan. The most recent attack on Agriculture Training Institute in Peshawar is one such example.

The preparedness, however, shown by our troops and law enforcing agencies with a response time of three minutes, was good enough to throw the terrorists of their game. We still lost precious lives but we sent a message to our enemies that we are ready and improving constantly. Having understood this message, our enemies will also step up their efforts to de-stabilize Pakistan. We need to anticipate more attacks, much vicious than the Peshawar one, we need to draw out security plans accordingly because our enemies will increase their activity from now on. While, considering the external threats and the threat of terrorist attacks, we should also be looking at our internal matters with a keen gaze. The situation is very sensitive, divisions are very clear as to who is on Pakistan’s side and who isn’t and their intentions are also very clear. We need to devise a plan which deals with all eventualities both external and internal, for that is the only way to move forward.
