Attack on Shah Nooranishrine in Balochistan’s 54 killed, 110 injured
ASBELA (Dunya News) Reportedly, large number of children and women were present in the shrine when a bomb went off. Initial probe reveals that the attack was carried out by a burqa-clad suicide bomber who blew himself up at the place where the devotees were dancing. There were over 500 people, coming from different parts of the country, inside the shrine when the blast happened. Islamic State of Iraq ad Syria (ISIS) has claimed responsibility of the attack. Earlier this year, 71 lives were lost in an attack in Quetta’s Civil Hospital in August. Another 72 people were killed in cold blood in Lahore in March. RAW could be involved in Shah Noorani shrine bomb blast The motive behind attack could be to disturb the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), it happened just one day before the departure of first caravan. Investigations are underway to find out the culprits. Secret agencies had already informed that some terrorists had entered the borders and could have targetted public places. According to sources, the attack was carried out by a young man who used ball bearings in the explosives for maximum damage.
Senior PPP leader Jahangir Badar passes away
LAHORE: (13 Nov) Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former secretary general of the party, Jahangir Badar passed away late Sunday night. Badar was taken to a private hospital after his condition got unstable. The senior leader was suffering from kidney and cardiac problems.
Badar was considered one of the closest aides of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. He became involved in politics as a student leader during his university days in Lahore. As a young man, he also met PPP’s Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and was among the first group of students to join and support the PPP leader. He was arrested during the governments of Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan and was detained a number of times by the Zia-ul-Haq and Musharraf regimes.
Over 200 Baloch ‘militants’ surrender
QUETTA: (7 Nov):- Over 200 suspected Baloch militants, including seven commanders of different banned separatist organisations, laid down their weapons to Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and announced that they had parted ways with their organisations and now joined mainstream politics to serve the country and the people.A majority of these commanders and militants had been living in Nimroz province of Afghanistan. In all, 202 militants attended the ceremony. Of these militants, 127 had surrendered themselves to security forces in different areas over the past six months.
Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui was sworn in as the new governor of Sindh
12 Nov: Karachi:-Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court Syed Sajjad Ali S hah administered the oath to Justice Siddiqui, as Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan’s 14-year tenure, which was the longest tenure of a governor in the country’s history, came to a close. After administering the oath, CJ Shah extended greeting to Governor Siddiqui on his new assignment. He was followed by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who was seated with Governor Siddiqui at the central table on his right hand.
