Dr Ansar Parvez, Advisor (Nuclear Power) National Command Authority, former Chairman of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, conducted a four-day workshop at CISSS from 1 to 4 August on “Physics and Mechanics of Nuclear Technology and Its Applications”. CISSS is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-commercial, multi-disciplinary research-oriented organization. 14 Research Officers and Research Assistants of CISSS attended the Workshop. The Workshop included modules on nuclear radiations, nuclear reactions, nuclear reactors, nuclear safety and security, uranium fuel cycle, and nuclear safeguards. The focus of the Workshop was on the peaceful uses of nuclear technology and the benefits of its civilian applications to the people of Pakistan in various fields including energy, health, agriculture, and Industry. The Workshop concluded with a certificate award ceremony for the participants. It was attended by Advisor Development National Command Authority Lt General Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, NI, HI, HI (M), (Retd), Executive Director CISSS Ambassador Qazi M. Khalilullah (Retd), and senior faculty members of CISSS.
