USA intends to keep fighting in Afghanistan and war is not over though it was widely thought USA has decided to end the war.
To understand the situation let us examine why American attacked Afghanistan.
The apparent reason was the presence of Osmaba Bin Laden in Afghanistan who was allegedly made responsible for 9/11 attack on New York twin towers but there were other reasons as well such as:
- America was looking for bases in the region to check Russia, China and other countries/ Afghanistan was considered most suitable place.
- USA would like to keep Pakistan under pressure a Muslim nuclear Power with weak economy
- USA has an eye on the riches of land lock Caspian Sea
- Iran’s developing Nuclear capability was also can be counted one of the reasons.
- There are other many reasons and CPEC then was not in sight
None of the said objectives were achieved by USA.
After a long war which called never ending War, Trump Administration decided to leave Afghanistan and Doha agreement was signed on 29 February 2020 in DOHA Qatar. With the change of Administration the new president Joe Biden was reluctant to leave Afghanistan and begged for time up to 11 September 2021. Suddenly, USA vacated Bagram Air base and it was considered that USA has left Afghanistan to let the Afghan groups fight with each other. But it was deception as the British newspaper Daily Telegraph reported that London is considering open-ended deployment of a contingent of elite Special Forces to Afghanistan “to provide training to Afghan units and deploy with them on the ground as advisers.” At the same time, the New York Times reported that White House approves Gen. Austin S. Miller, the top American commander in Afghanistan, staying on at his post for “at least a couple more weeks,” although US troop withdrawal is complete. It seems that US is trying hard to replace the forever war in Afghanistan with a Syria-like hybrid war. But these blood thirsty Commanders do not realize the difference between Syria and Afghanistan and level of interest of China, Russia and other countries in Afghanistan.
Moscow is not taking chances. Russia decided to provide advanced military equipment to its Southern military district (which includes facilities in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan). These military equipments includes, the Sukhoi-34 multirole aircraft and the air defense capabilities of the Russian base in Tajikistan are being strengthened, including with deployment of the newest Verba portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS). President Vladimir Putin had a call with Tajikistan President Imam Ali Rahmanov in the 3rd week of July 2021 where he pledged all Russian support to strengthen Tajik defense capabilities.
Taliban delegation is in Beijing seeking some new arms and help. Taliban would like to shoot down B-52 bombers and US drones. It is considered that Russian and Chinese will help Taliban to fulfill some of the requirement.
In conclusion, USA has not end the war in Afghanistan it continues to fight in Afghanistan with aerial power. Hybrid war and Libyan style of war.
So far Doha agreement is concerned it was for the honorable exit from Afghanistan and not ending the war.
The consequence will be Afghanistan will remain in war and blood shall continue to bleed. The region shall be remaining unstable. The threat to CPEC shall grow.
For the time being Talibans are advancing. USA and NATO war heads are at work to further ruin Afghanistan in the disguise of Power tussle. Consequently, Peace is a dream in Afghanistan.
